Barbershop Offers Discounts to Kids — If They Read Aloud
In a heartwarming initiative, a barbershop in Michigan is transforming haircuts into reading adventures. The Jolly Snip, located in Ypsilanti, Michigan, just a stone’s throw from Ann Arbor, is offering kids a two-dollar discount (or two bucks straight into their pocket) if they read aloud during their haircut.
The brainchild of barber Jake Thompson, this innovative program took root after he learned about similar initiatives in other states. After sharing his idea with the shop’s owner, Mia Clark, they quickly got the ball rolling. Jake contributed a few books from his personal collection, and the program took off like a rocket!
