It’s your friendly neighbor from up north—Canada!
Can We Have a Moment to Chat?
Lately, there’s been quite a ruckus coming from your side—actually, it’s been brewing for about a year now. We understand there’s an election happening, and as the big day approaches, things tend to get a bit louder. Usually, we don’t mind the noise; in fact, we often enjoy watching the spectacle from our cozy perch. We just wrapped up our own election not too long ago—you might have missed it, no hard feelings!
Speaking of Elections
Have you caught a glimpse of our new Prime Minister, Lucas? He’s a modern-day leader: an advocate for women’s rights, has a sharp wit, and even enjoys a good surf session! He’s been known to photobomb weddings while on vacation! Plus, he bases his policies on facts—what a concept, right?
Leadership Matters
Now, onto the topic we wanted to discuss: leadership. You might not care much about Prime Minister Lucas, and that’s perfectly fine since it’s your country we’re talking about. We don’t typically call ourselves The Leaders of the Free World either. But you do, and what happens in your country has real consequences for everyone else.
Normally, we’d just chuckle over your political antics—we’ve got our own progressive leanings and tend to favor leaders like President Obama. But right now, one of your candidates has us genuinely concerned. To say we’re terrified would be an understatement; it makes us question the very future of our planet as it hurtles through the cosmos.
Global Concerns
And it’s not just us. Other countries are getting a bit jittery too. There are whispers in Eastern Europe about whether you’ll uphold your commitments, especially with a candidate who seems to view long-standing alliances as mere protection rackets. Meanwhile, Japan is feeling uneasy as that same candidate suggests leaving them to fend for themselves with nuclear armaments. Just the other day, he referred to the Philippines as a “terrorist nation”—we’re still scratching our heads over that one.
Your candidate’s apparent belief that nuclear weapons are a quick fix for complex issues is alarming. We all enjoy watching our children grow up, go to school, and lead fulfilling lives. The last thing we want for them is a future filled with devastation and ruin.
Moreover, he seems to overlook that there are eight other nuclear nations in the world. Some of these countries can be a bit unpredictable, particularly when an American presidential hopeful is cozying up to the local bully and threatening trade wars with nuclear-armed powers.
Let’s Keep It Real
So, America, let’s keep it real. We’re close enough that we feel we can express our concerns without sugarcoating. You’re capable of so much more than this, and we’re hopeful you’ll rise to the occasion.
Warm regards,
Your Canadian Neighbors Upstairs
