Are you feeling utterly worn out? Juggling a million responsibilities? Overwhelmed to the max? Drained, stressed, and just plain exhausted? Well, I have a rather unconventional remedy for you! It’s one that promises to refresh your spirit and fill you with gratitude for the life you’re living.
Are You Ready for It?
Get yourself a puppy! Yes, you heard me right—a puppy. Picture an adorable eight-week-old bundle of energy, bubbling with enthusiasm. Make sure to choose one that is delightfully un-housebroken, having little accidents multiple times a day. Opt for a pup that barks at every little sound and insists on being taken outside every half hour. Look for one that has a peculiar attraction to mud, especially right after a bath, and cries when placed in a crate. Bonus points if it chews on shoes, homework, and toys!
If you think you’re drained and stressed now, just wait! This tiny fur-ball will make your current chaos feel like a leisurely stroll in the park—complete with rainbows and cotton candy. Embrace life with this puppy for at least two months, until you feel yourself on the brink of a mental breakdown and haven’t exchanged a word with your partner in weeks.
When you reach that point, it’s time to find a loving new home for your puppy—ideally with a close friend so your children can still visit and not be traumatized by the sudden departure. After doing that, take a deep breath and soak in the newfound tranquility of your life.
On second thought, you might want to appreciate your puppy-free existence right now. Unless you already have a puppy, in which case, my heartfelt sympathies are with you!
Update on Max
As a little update on Max… he’s thriving in his new home with our friends and his dog-sister, Bella. He’s still as cuddly as ever, though he hasn’t quite mastered the art of house-training yet. Here’s a snapshot from a recent visit!
