Whirlwind Trip to New York City

Last week, I made a whirlwind trip to New York City to promote my new book and film a short segment for a talk show hosted by the delightful Tara Lane. It was the perfect excuse for a much-needed break from my husband’s nightly snoring and a chance to score a fresh haircut (shoutout to the amazing stylist at Ouidad!).

Panel Discussion on Mommy Dilemmas

During the show, I joined a lively panel with reality TV personalities Mia Rodriguez and Sam Harper to chat about the latest “mommy dilemmas.” You should have seen Tara’s expression as I shared a funny story about my daughter critiquing my naked body. At least she complimented me on my fragrance, so that was a win!

Then, in a hilarious twist, Sam decided to rap about something as unexpected as poop! I was left wondering how to react while everyone else seemed to be enjoying the moment, dancing in their seats. Was I really hearing a rap about that? Turns out, I wasn’t imagining it at all!

Chat with Lisa Monroe

I also had the chance to chat with former reality star Lisa Monroe and playfully mentioned that she looked shorter in person than I had expected. She took it like a champ, and I followed up by telling her she looked incredibly youthful, so I think I redeemed myself there!

Train Ride Back

On the train ride back, I found myself meticulously peeling off some eyelash extensions that had been painstakingly applied in single strands. I can only imagine how it looked, as I probably resembled someone trying to pull out actual eyelashes. I swear I saw a couple of passengers shift uncomfortably in their seats. At least I smelled good, right?

A Much-Needed Escape

This whirlwind 24-hour adventure in New York was just what I needed, although it’s clear I might not be ready for the big city just yet. In summary, my trip to New York was a whirlwind of fun, laughter, and unexpected moments. From rapping about poop to insightful conversations, it was a delightful escape from the everyday.
