Following the recent court ruling that denied Britney Spears’ plea to remove her father, Jamie Spears, from her conservatorship, the pop star took to Instagram to share two mysterious posts. The fight for Britney’s autonomy continues as she awaits her next conservatorship hearing slated for September 29. Last week, Britney’s attorney, Mathew Rosengart, filed a petition in Los Angeles probate court to either oust Jamie or suspend him immediately while an audit of his financial dealings is conducted. He cited “excessive payments” to himself and other entities without Britney’s approval.
Rosengart’s petition emphasized that “each day that passes brings more unnecessary harm to Ms. Spears and her estate.” He claimed that Jamie has been paying himself $2,000 more per month than what Britney receives, in addition to $2,000 for “office expenses.”
Unfortunately, NBC News reports that the court denied Rosengart’s request to terminate Jamie’s role or expedite the hearing, without providing a specific explanation. However, Britney is permitted to file another motion before the September hearing, meaning Jamie remains in control of her finances for the time being.
At the same time, Britney addressed the situation on Instagram, where she has been vocal about her experiences during the conservatorship. She shared a Boomerang of a fan waving a #FreeBritney flag, accompanied by a cryptic message stating that fans “only know half” of her story.
“Wow, look at that flag!” she exclaimed, infusing her caption with emojis. “I was like, ‘My flag up over the American Flag?!?’ … Yes, I’m tooting my own horn 📯 … I know I said you guys know my situation, but LET ME CLARIFY … you only know half of it!!!! And for many of you who think I should be careful with my posts … if you REALLY THINK ABOUT IT … given what I’ve been through, I believe I’ve been WAY TOO CAUTIOUS!!!! One day, I’ll live on the edge!!!!”
Following this, she posted a video of cookbook author Jake Cohen making avocado toast. In her caption, she expressed feeling “completely hopeless,” but acknowledged the importance of having “a platform to share.”
“In a system where I’ve felt utterly hopeless for so long, at least I do have a platform to share,” she wrote. “As Selena Gomez wisely says, ‘The world can be a nasty place … I know it … you know it … kill them with kindness ☀️☀️☀️ !!! Unfortunately, the news has been quite harsh, spreading horrible lies about me, so I’ll be posting a little less from now on 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️ !!!! P.S. This was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen in my life and it’s inspired me to explore a new passion in cooking!!!! God bless you beautiful people … TA TA 👋🏼 !!!!”
Recently, it appears Britney has been enjoying small moments of much-deserved freedom, including trips to Hawaii with her boyfriend, Sam Asghari, and a new iPad. We hope that the judges involved in her case will expedite the necessary actions toward ensuring her safety, security, and the freedom she has long awaited.
