I’ll admit it, dear readers: I had my doubts. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been gripped by anxiety, fearing we wouldn’t be able to gather enough funds for this year’s Thanksgiving Initiative. With so many worthy causes and so many facing hardships, it felt overwhelming.
Despite a steady flow of contributions, the number of requests for assistance outpaced our ability to respond. I even began drafting apologies, resigning myself to the fact that not every applicant would receive help. I simply didn’t believe we could achieve our goal…but we did!
In less than a month, we raised an astonishing $114,516. This means 2,152 families no longer have to stress about putting together a Thanksgiving meal. WE DID IT!
A heartfelt thank you to every donor and supporter. Your belief in the connections we’ve fostered here and your commitment to making a difference truly made this possible.
You should have received an email detailing “your” family. If you haven’t seen it by November 21, please reach out, and we’ll get you the information promptly.
Special thanks to our partner, InteliSpend Prepaid Solutions, for their seamless gift card service—they’ve truly made this a joy. We also owe a great deal to Nehemiah Manufacturing Co for their fantastic outreach on social media, going above and beyond in support of our cause.
A huge shoutout to WhatsUpMoms for creating an incredible book trailer, with proceeds benefiting the Thanksgiving Initiative. We appreciate the support from Glennon Melton’s non-profit, Together Rising; if you missed our Thanksgiving efforts, check out their amazing Holiday Hands project.
I also want to recognize AUL Corporation and SH International for their generous contributions.
On a personal note, I’m immensely grateful to my co-authors on the “Guide to Surviving the Holidays,” who not only donated their profits but embraced this cause with their whole hearts. Thank you to my amazing moderators, who once again rallied our community to give generously. Thanks to Rebecca and Mark for keeping the site running smoothly, allowing me to focus on our mission during these busy months.
And a final thank you to my dedicated team members, who pour their hearts into making Thanksgiving special for families in need. Your passion and commitment are truly inspiring, and this wouldn’t be possible without you.
Thank you to everyone for believing in this project, even when I questioned it. Here’s to a joyful Thanksgiving for all!
