One of the most delightful aspects of my journey is how blogging has expanded my social circle, bringing me countless moments of joy. I recently connected with a wonderful woman named Clara, who shares my passion for using social media to connect with readers. She published her first book, “Auntie Adventures: The Essential Guide for Fabulous Aunts, Great-Aunts, Godmothers, and All Women Who Cherish Children,” which highlights the profound love and happiness that comes from the unique relationships between aunts and their beloved nieces, nephews, and godchildren. Clara’s insights on happiness intrigued me, and I was eager to learn from her experiences.
What’s a simple activity that consistently boosts your happiness?
“I love to call my nieces and nephews just to hear their voices. It instantly lifts my spirits!”
What’s an important lesson about happiness you’ve learned since your teenage years?
“I used to believe that happiness stemmed from being popular. Now, I’ve realized that genuine happiness often leads to popularity instead.”
Do you have a mantra that inspires you?
“Keep moving forward.” A dear friend often reminds me of this when I share my achievements; if I maintain a positive outlook, more success is sure to follow.
Is there anything you’ve noticed that enhances or diminishes happiness among those around you?
I’ve learned that focusing on what I lacked—like being a wife or mother—held me back in my mid-30s. Instead, I embraced my identity as a “childfull” person, filled with love for the children in my life. This shift in perspective allowed me to recognize my value as an aunt and the vital role I play in a child’s life, which has brought immense joy to both myself and others. This realization inspired me to start my platform, AuntieAdventures.com, in 2008, where many women have discovered the joy and importance of their roles as aunts and godmothers.
Do you actively work on enhancing your happiness?
Absolutely, every single day. I practice the art of letting go—not giving up on success, but understanding that the outcomes of my efforts may not always be immediate or obvious. If something I hoped would bring joy doesn’t work out, I trust that my future will hold unexpected sources of happiness. This mindset has been my main focus, reinforcing my belief in the power of happiness.
