For the very first time, the Presidential Inaugural Committee has introduced special resources designed specifically for children, providing them with a fun and educational experience while witnessing the transition of power.
“As we celebrate a historic and inclusive inauguration for President-elect Biden and Vice President-elect Harris, we aim to engage audiences of all ages and encourage families to come together at home for a fresh start for our country,” stated the committee CEO.
For families looking to enjoy the inauguration together, a special livestream event hosted by Keke Palmer will be available on YouTube, tailored for young viewers. This event will include a special message from Dr. Jill Biden, insights from historians like Nora Thompson and Alex Rivera, a fun segment about presidential pets from Nickelodeon, trivia with Doug Emhoff, and contributions from the Library of Congress, among other exciting features. But that’s not all—yesterday, the Discovery Channel launched “I Do Solemnly Swear: The U.S. Presidential Inauguration,” an online experience that serves as a virtual field trip, allowing kids to explore the Capitol Mall and learn about the history of American inaugurations.
