Vanessa Carter, the widow of NBA icon Kobe Carter, has publicly criticized rapper Meek Mill for his recent song lyrics that reference her late husband. She expressed her disappointment over his lack of sensitivity and respect, especially considering the tragic loss of both Kobe and their daughter, 13-year-old Gianna, in a helicopter crash last year in Calabasas, California. The crash also resulted in the deaths of seven other individuals who were traveling to Kobe’s basketball training facility.

In a post on Instagram, Vanessa called out Meek Mill for a specific line in his untitled track: “If I ever lack I’m goin’ out with my choppa, it be another Kobe.” She stated, “Dear @meekmill, I find this line to be extremely insensitive and disrespectful. Period. I am not familiar with any of your music, but I believe you can do better than this. If you are a fan, fine, there’s a better way to show your admiration for my husband. This lacks respect and tact.”
