During the April 4 episode of American Idol, Perry told contestant Jenna Lee, “Your voice is a spiritual experience. It is otherworldly, angelic. As a new mother, I don’t have much time, so I’ve stopped shaving my legs. But when you sang, it gave me full body chills!” In a bold move, she lifted her legs onto the judges’ table, prompting fellow judge Luke Harrison to confirm, “She literally has leg hair.”

American Idol tweeted a cheeky post about Perry’s statement, saying, “Me: I’m going to be productive today,” followed by a snapshot of her legs under the caption “Also me.” Perhaps they overlooked the fact that Perry left her baby to come to the studio ready to work. The presence or absence of leg hair doesn’t define a person’s ability to excel in their career, right?
