It’s no secret that autistic children have incredible moms who often go to great lengths to ensure their kids enjoy fulfilling lives, especially in a world that is still learning to embrace neurodiversity. As an autistic mom involved in supporting autistic children as a Speech Language Pathologist in Salt Lake City, I’ve witnessed firsthand the endless love, dedication, and advocacy these mothers provide.

Reflecting on my own experiences, I remember the countless times my mom offered comfort during moments of anxiety when social interactions became overwhelming. Her reassurance helped me understand whether I was navigating peer situations correctly and guided me through adjustments I could make. Her patience was a constant source of support, allowing me to reach a place of calm.

To gather more voices, I reached out to various advocates and individuals within the autism community, asking them what they would like to tell their moms this Mother’s Day. Here are their poignant messages:
