If You Work in a Daycare, Maybe Think Twice Before Posting on Facebook About “Hating Kids”
Hey there, friends! Can we take a moment to chat about social media and common sense? Seriously, some folks really need a wake-up call. If you’re working at a daycare, it’s probably not the best idea to hop onto Facebook and announce that you “hate kids.” Unfortunately, that’s exactly what one woman did, and let’s just say it didn’t end well for her.
Meet Jenna Parker
Jenna Parker, a 27-year-old single mom from a Dallas suburb, had just scored a job at a daycare. However, her new employers quickly told her not to bother coming in after they stumbled upon a Facebook post she shared. It read: “Excited to start my new job today, but I absolutely hate working at daycare. Lol, just really can’t stand being around a bunch of kids.” Yikes.
Since her post was set to “public,” she found herself swarmed with comments from total strangers. Honestly, how hard is it to set your posts to “friends only”? Jenna told a news outlet, “I have people attacking me because I don’t want to be around a lot of kids all the time.” If only she realized that a little privacy could save her from all that drama!
The Importance of Common Sense
Now, I totally get that working with kids all day requires a superhuman level of patience. Major kudos to those who do it! But I’m more concerned about the sheer lack of common sense in publicly complaining about a job you actually need, especially in today’s world where people are quick to get offended. A writer on a popular blog mentioned that “a bunch of suburban busybodies with nothing else to do hounded a woman out of a job she needed.” True, but the real takeaway here should be: adjust your Facebook privacy settings, folks!

In Summary
Think before you post! Your social media presence can have real-life consequences, especially in a professional setting. And remember, keeping your posts private might just save you from unwanted drama.
