Non-Profit Spa Pampering Kids Battling Serious Illnesses
The Twinkle Hope Rockin’ Spa and G.I. Joe Gym are here to provide families a chance to unwind and recharge!
At the heart of Give Kids The World Village, a magical 79-acre retreat, families grappling with life-threatening illnesses can enjoy week-long vacations at absolutely no cost. Their latest creation to sprinkle some extra joy into these families’ lives is the Twinkle Hope Rockin’ Spa—a whimsical spot where kids can receive delightful makeovers, while their parents sneak in some much-needed relaxation.
This adorable spa just opened its doors at Give Kids The World Village (GKTW) and is already making waves of happiness among families with its fabulous offerings. GKTW President & CEO, Sarah Johnson, expressed her excitement, stating, “We are thrilled to provide this unique experience for our guests. Our wish kids can unleash their imaginations at the spa, and families can stay on top of their fitness routines. Huge thanks to Hasbro for their generous donation that made this fantastic new amenity possible!”
The spa is truly a sight to behold, thanks in part to a whopping $150,000 from Hasbro, Inc., and is inspired by Twinkle Hope, a character from My Little Pony. This contribution allowed for extended hours, new services, and the addition of the G.I. Joe Gym—a fitness haven for parents while their little ones enjoy some pampering.
Kids can indulge in airbrush tattoos, face painting, hand massages, manicures, and even a “crazy hair” station, where volunteers help them adorn their hair with colorful sprays, chalks, flowers, and tiaras. These fun features were previously available on a limited basis, but now every child visiting the village can enjoy a makeover and snap a selfie at the spa’s dedicated selfie booth.
Mark Thompson, Hasbro’s Senior VP of Global Philanthropy & Social Impact, commented, “What makes Give Kids The World so special is their commitment to including the entire family during their stay.” This commitment is crucial, as it allows kids to revel in fun while their parents can focus on their own well-being, which can often take a back seat during difficult times.
