Classic Toys Are Making a Comeback: A Nostalgic Revivalhome insemination Kit

My kids are always eager to share the latest trends with me, convinced that my choice of wearing leggings day in and day out and my ignorance of the current Top 40 hits means I’m totally out of touch. Sure, my fashion sense might not be on point, and I may not know who the latest pop rappers are, but I can still belt out every line from “Rapper’s Delight.”

Taking advantage of my so-called retro cluelessness, my children love to “introduce” me to new toys. They believe they have uncovered the next big thing, saving me from my own lack of pop culture knowledge. However, many of these “new” toys are actually the same ones I cherished as a child. As the saying goes, what’s old can be new again.

Rubik’s Cube

Currently, my kids are fascinated by the Rubik’s Cube. Nowadays, these cubes come in all sorts of bizarre shapes, including a triangular “cube” and a hexagonal one that leaves me dizzy. A few minutes of twisting and turning makes me want to toss it across the room, yet it keeps my kids entertained for hours (okay, maybe just minutes, but I’ll take what I can get).

Spirograph

I adored the Spirograph as a kid, so I was thrilled when my son received one as a gift recently. There’s something oddly calming about creating intricate, flowery designs that I can’t quite put into words.

My Little Pony

Who didn’t love My Little Ponies as a child? If you didn’t, we might need to reconsider our friendship! I was absolutely obsessed, and I’m excited to see them returning to popularity—across all genders. Personally, I aspire to be Princess Twilight Sparkle when I grow up. #LifeGoals

Mad Libs

Long family road trips were filled with Mad Libs sessions with my siblings, and now my kids enjoy the same. What’s not to love? It’s silly, entertaining, and sneakily educational, even if the most popular nouns they choose are poop, penis, or pee.
