Why Mommy Bloggers Might Want to Skip Hollywood Events

One of the aspects I truly appreciate about blogging is its ability to highlight the humor in everyday mishaps. For instance, the black marker that Ella used to label my belongings, or the red one that Jake decided to use for some unapproved “art” on his sibling. Even the struggle to capture that perfect family photo can become a source of amusement. This platform has transformed my perspective, allowing me to find laughter in what once would have frustrated me.

However, I recently encountered a situation that is devoid of comedy—lice have taken over my household, and it’s anything but funny. The mountain of laundry piling up isn’t amusing in the slightest. The noxious smell of the treatment we’re using is enough to make anyone gag, and the sight of every stuffed animal and doll crammed into garbage bags in the basement is downright disheartening. Not to mention, I’m about to pay a mobile lice expert $100 an hour to help rid us of these unwelcome guests.

Yet, the thought of possibly passing lice to a Hollywood star like Isla Fisher, causing a high-profile outbreak, does bring a smirk to my face. Just a little.

Disclaimer: My partner advised me against sharing this post. Although I typically don’t run my posts by him, I wanted his input on this particular one. He labeled it as mean-spirited, but I disagree—I’m not suggesting I’d ever wish lice upon Isla or that I’d intentionally spread it to her; rather, the image of Entertainment Tonight covering a lice outbreak traced back to me is simply amusing. What can I say?
